Capella is an iconic mixed-use development that provides 164 apartments, ground floor retail, basement car parking, landscaped residents’ garden and a substantial contribution to public open space and urban amenity.

The design reinforces the prominence of the adjoining heritage-listed Doncaster Hotel, which is located on an acute corner site and is a local landmark or ‘gateway’. Accordingly, Capella is conceived as carefully-proportioned masonry ‘streetwall’ buildings with twin set-back glazed tower forms that respond to the hotel’s symmetry and height. This creates a cloistered central garden that is protected from the noise and pollution of the busy streets.

The project has been recognized for its design excellence and contribution to the urban environment, being awarded the Randwick City Urban Design Award.
