The Southbank Cultural Precinct Redevelopment Master Plan will transform the area into Australia’s foremost and arts, cultural and education venue.
The project includes an upgrade and extension to existing Arts Centre facilities (addressing operational issues and ensuring they exceed contemporary standards), significant new public domain with a pedestrian emphasis, and the creation of the Sturt Street Cultural Spine to integrate the precinct with Southbank Promenade, the city and other cultural facilities along Sturt Street.
The redevelopment affords the opportunity to build community awareness and create a new benchmark in sustainability. fjmt’s vision for the project is for a visitor experience that simultaneously educates and delights; a series of safe, healthy, comfortable and engaging environments which are achieved using sustainable means.
