The architects have designed an elegant and spacious structure that cannot fail to inspire our academic staff, administrators and students. A functional and beautiful environment respects those who use the spaces and motivates all who work in the building.

(Dean, Sydney Law School)

Following an international design competition, fjmt was commissioned to design the new Faculty of Law. The building represents a unique opportunity to transform a key site into a powerful new identity for the University of Sydney and the faculty, reflecting their appropriate ideals and aspirations to the wider community.

It is a true mixed-use initiative, combining workplace, teaching, study, library, research and public domain function. The development creates a contemporary sense of place and provides a lively, engaging legal precinct with strong connections to its campus environs and rich architectural heritage, whilst reinforcing the faculty’s traditional connection with the city.
