Recent projects include the master plan for the Southbank Cultural Precinct in Melbourne, the Chatswood Civic Place mixed-use development and the Parliament Square project in Hobart, along with many residential and mixed-use developments, urban design and planning studies for regulatory authorities, and campus master planning.

The practice was responsible for the influential 2010 Master Plan for the University of Sydney Darlington and Camperdown campuses. Acknowledging the ‘campus experience’, this study identified current and future opportunities to transform the built environment to ensure that the institution combined its heritage with that of new state-of-the-art facilities.

Urban design and master planning have been at the core of fjmt’s multi-disciplinary services since the practice’s inception. Urban design and master plan projects are undertaken in a holistic manner and resourced with independent in-house qualified specialists across the integrated fields of Urban Design, Architecture and Landscape Architecture. This multi-disciplinary approach has delivered excellence in the many master plan and urban design commissions undertaken by fjmt for both public and private clients.

The success of these often sensitive projects has also been due to fjmt’s ability to enhance development potential through design excellence, and our collaborative methodology whereby community and stakeholder consultation is central to the design process.
